We're Ofsted Outstanding!!
We’re delighted to report that, following a recent Ofsted visit, Tollerton Playgroup is now Outstanding! At our last inspection in March 2016, we were an Ofsted ‘Good’ setting, so this means we’ve improved across the board in four key areas that were assessed.
Ofsted – the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills – is the Government’s watchdog for Education. Routine inspections for pre-schools take place every three years, and look at the:
• effectiveness of leadership and management; • quality of teaching, learning and assessment; • personal development, behaviour and welfare; • and outcomes for children.
Tracey Owen, Playgroup’s Supervisor, said: “Despite the visit taking place on one of the windiest and rainiest days of the year, our wonderful staff and children rose to the challenge and showed just what a fantastic place our Playgroup is.
“The inspector was particularly impressed with the personalised and innovative learning experiences that our children have. She also commended the staff on the excellent partnerships with parents, and spoke highly of the positive early intervention strategies we’ve implemented to develop the language and communication skills of our children.
“We’re chuffed to bits to be outstanding; this brilliant outcome is a reflection of the dedication of our loyal staff, supportive parents and - of course - our fabulous children.”
